How to Choose an NBN Plan for Business

Choose a business internet plan by workload, upload needs, available technology and outage impact—not speed label alone.

The highest advertised download number is not always the most useful comparison. Businesses that upload large files, use cloud phones, run video meetings or depend on remote systems may need to pay close attention to upload performance and service support.

Start With the Address and Workload

  • Check the access technology and plans available at the exact address.
  • Count concurrent users rather than total staff only.
  • List cloud apps, video calls, backups, uploads and remote-access traffic.
  • Consider whether phones or payment systems depend on the connection.
  • Allow for expected growth and busy periods.

Compare the Whole Service

  • Typical and maximum speed information.
  • Upload as well as download performance.
  • Contract, setup, modem and cancellation terms.
  • Support hours and fault-escalation process.
  • Business features or enhanced support where applicable.
  • A fallback option if downtime would stop operations.

Check the Internal Network Too

Test with a suitable wired connection before blaming the external service. Weak Wi-Fi, an old router, busy radio channels or poor access-point placement can limit a fast plan.

Practical note: My IT Shop currently publishes eligible Internet / NBN plans from $79 per month. Availability, plan details, equipment and current provider terms must be confirmed for the address.
